We tried to cancel right after we booked. The reviews are accurate to the hotel. I haphazardly booked it as hotels com recommended it and read the reviews too late. They didnt not accept my refund and cancellation request so we were forced to stay here and held our breaths for our best. Upon arrival we asked for a possible paid upgrade and were notifoed that the hotel was oversold. The manager and front staff were curteous and sweet. The receptionist tried hard to please. The location is wonderful, right across the mountain. Parking is easy. The hotel is distressed. It has alot of potential. No humidifiers available on site. Odd for a mountain town. Bathroom tub needed a resurface. Window glass was broken. Sheets and blankets were thin. Bed, hard to sleep on. Hot tub was more of a warm tub. Overall, I would'nt recommend a stay here. At least not in the room we were in. Mountain towns can get away charging absorbent prices for delapitated rooms. I wish the hotelier took pride in the product he was offering. I hope to visit a renovated property in the future. Till then I would look for alternatives.

Reception staff was friendly. Carpets looked old and stained. Room was old and unkept, chairs had holes in the fabric, 1 light in the room didn’t work the only one that worked was full of dead bugs. Only given 2 towels for 3 people even though we requested a 3rd one twice. No habdtowels or bathmat. Feels hotel is going out of business

While this hotel is well situated across from the ski resort, the facility has not been maintained to handle its heavy use by winter sports enthusiasts. The common areas are tired and worn. In the rooms, the furnishings are old, dated, very old carpet, a broken lampshade, blankets were as thin as sheets and the requested additional blanket was a nasty material that felt rubbery. Awful, lumpy pillows The lights were of the lowest possible wattage, making the rooms very dim. So few outlets and no USB plug ins made charging devices difficult. Forget about washing your hands because no soap is provided and the shampoo and conditioner were so tiny the could not wash half of your hair. The "Continental Breakfast" consisted of a few single serving boxes of cereal and frozen breakfast sandwiches. It was the Christmas holidays and there was only one person working. There was a mix up of our reservation and while she offered to fix the issue, she was too busy to complete the task. After repeated requests and finally speaking with the mostly absent manager, the issue was resolved. Since the ski shuttle system picks up skiers from all over Winter Park, choose a better property, if not as close to the ski resort.

We had great people in reception and in the restaurant/ grab and go. The big thing with me is the have removable curtain rods in the bathroom and as I was opening the shower curtain it fell on me, I didn't get really hurt, thank goodness but I went to call the front desk to get it fixed and the phone didn't work.
