I booked a single room when getting to the room I was in a very poor state the room I had was not on any of the photos on the website only the refurbished rooms were, the carpets were stained and there was what looked like someone’s nose picking smeared on the wall next to the bed. There was carpet in the bathroom that was curling up in the corners and the shower pressure and temperature of the water was rubbish. When I contacted the reception they was helpful and did move us to one of the of refurbished rooms but the original room was disgusting.

The property is an old house with creaky floor. The rooms were not sound-proof. The room is stuffed and damp. The window was permanently shut resulting in poor ventilation.

It is disappointing to read you did not enjoy your stay here with us but also we were given no opportunity to correct any of the issues you had with the Hotel. We are a 2 star, budget Hotel, and our pricing reflects this. All bedroom windows can be opened by sliding the window upwards. Given the opportunity, we could have moved you to a room you felt was more appropriate.

Pros: As Above
Cons: The stair carpet,The lead up to reception and the painting of hallway doors.
Location: Dudley Zoo, Various pubs for meals, Canal not far.
The Hotel is of a style which reflects the elegant nature of its past.The wide halls and curving stairway and some original art deco features are lovely.It is obviously not as grand as it used to be,But it has a aura about it which leaves you to imagine its past history.The Theatres across and next door would have been filled with audiences enjoying nights out and many stars used to stop in the Hotel.The staff were very friendly and helpful and our front facing room was big and nicely decorated.
