convenient for the theatre Good size room even though single Clean and comfortable Lots of facilities nearby Nice bathroom facilities Central London base Smart facilities in communal areas. Negative - open plan, no door on bathroom, felt strange and was concerned that smoke detector right outside. - mis matched furniture - very warm in room, no temperature control - noisy air vent in room - unexpected costs, refundable room tab - long queue for check in - not sure id want to pay for as much for the room as I did.

The hotel was lovely, the staff friendly and helpful. The Gin bar was wonderful. Staff was friendly and fun. The Haxell restaurant, not so much. There was a cafeteria vibe, the food was ho-hum. I had crab sliders, They were underwhelming. The experience was disappointing and a contrast of everything else about the hotel. I would definitely stay again.

A wonderful anniversary trip felt very special
We stayed for our tenth wedding anniversary and it was truly a special trip. The hotel is beautifully kept, and the staff friendly, efficient and professional. The breakfast was the best I've ever had in a hotel. We went to the Gin Palace bar for a couple of drinks as well and their cocktails are great. Special thanks to Karthik and Hemex who looked after us and made it a really lovely evening. There is a lot of history in the hotel and they celebrate it with some lovely touches in the decor, and even the menus. There was hotel branded chocolate in the room, water bottles with free refill stations on every floor, and even an umbrella in the room for our use. It seemed like all things were thought out, and it was extremely easy to relax.

All the staff...from the doormen, the porters and the concierges (especially Izzy) were friendly, kind and helpful. The room was very quiet. The shutters kept out the light (perfect for sleeping in). Comfy bed. Shower had just enough headroom but not if you are taller than 5'7" - great temperature and pressure though. A great stay!!
