Location wins the prize - apartment has plenty of room for improvement
Finding the keys was a bit like a treasure hunt—they were stored in a lock box attached to the bike lockup on the ground down the street a short distance. Carrying our cases up the stairs was close to a gym workout—as we’re in our 70’s we moved carefully. We were just off an international flight and hoping to have a nap, only to find the bedding was wet. The pillows and mattress were damp because the linen was not dry when they were put on the bed. The duvet, with its cover still on, was soaking wet and draped over a door frame. The bed is tucked into an alcove (not really a one bedroom apartment) so one person will have to climb over the other to get out of bed. Not ideal. The sofa bed had a sheet that didn’t look fresh, and the mattress was much too thin to be comfortable. The duvets for the sofa bed didn’t have covers and there were no pillows - so it was not an option for sleeping. The photo shows the sofa bed with linen that we didn’t have. We knew very quickly this was not going to be the right place for us to stay, so we found a local hotel and moved within the hour after our arrival. The owner responded to our text and we had an ongoing communication that was appropriate and responsive. Even if the bedding was dry, this was the wrong apartment for us. Perhaps younger people who don’t mind these sleeping arrangements would be the right demographic. The ad says 5 can sleep there, but three would be on the sofa bed/lounger together. However, regardless of who stays there, the bathroom light is hanging from the ceiling with the wire exposed and must be repaired as it is simply dangerous and illegal . I wish the owner success in her endeavour, with this location and some changes to the standard of accommodation this apartment could be a winner and worth the price.
