Hotel was very clean, staff friendly and helpful. Buffet changes for every meal and everyday. Ocean beautiful and close to pools. Lots of activities. We loved Riu in Punta Cana!

NOT a five star by a loooong stretch. I’ve traveled all over the world, including the Caribbean every year and seen motels in third world countries that provide more consistent amenities. Where do I start…check-in…the guy was clueless, slow and almost forgot to give us wristbands for the hotel. It took about half an hour even though we had checked in online. The towels were frayed, stained and absolutely disgusting. Both room and pool towels were probably the worst I have seen anywhere. Disgusting. The blankets were also stained…and didn’t look like they had been washed since there was hair from the previous occupants. Then…if you want your water and coffee replaced, you better be up by 9 am in some areas. They only do it once a day. I’m at a fricking resort and not a boot camp that I can’t get even water replaced. If you call the front desk, they don’t even offer to send it to you. Basically say come by and pick it up. Mind you, the front desk was a 10-15 minute walk away and carrying those bottles wasn’t easy. Any other place, they’d send it to you. My sons had a tv in their room which didn’t work. When you go to the front desk, it’s comical how they pretend to take your room number down on a random piece of paper…but absolutely nothing gets done. 4 days and it never got fixed. The food is iffy. Not many choices and even the “specialty” restaurants are primarily buffets. Can’t get a margarita in the Mexican restaurant? Only cheap wine and beer. Worst ever

The rooms were very old, no elevator, rust on all fixtures like door handles, bathroom knobs, shower is not clean, shower handle has rust, safe doesn’t work, power plugs don’t work, refrigerator makes horrible sound all night, beds are old and make creamy noise all the time, staff doesn’t answer phones at all, staff were not friendly at all, rude behavior, once the check-in is done, the staff doesn’t behave nice at all, food options are limited, food quality is poor, same food is served most of the time, overall experience has been awful for the price paid.

The experience was good overall. The buffet and the mexicam restaurant were very good. The only orobkem the rooms were very very cold with not enough sheets to use at night to cover. Also the tv stop working and we had to go to the reception 4 times to get somebody to the room to fixed it because the room phone did not worked either. Took 4h, we where at the far end of the hotel which was a pretty long walk. The activities were nice. The beach was pretty.

Wonderful staff… great restaurants… beautiful pools and beach… terrible Wi-fi. Couldn’t plug iur phones to charge. Old electrical plugs. Nice if you want to disconnect from the world and enjoy, but do not plan to work with yr computer because it does not work.

Ive been to the Riu Republika and thought that was bad. Boy was i wrong. Riu Bambu is a dump. Its at best a 3*hotel. Our room was ready just to get inside and see it wasnt. It was old and dirty, the bathroom sliding door you couldnt close at all. The towles smelled like old vomit, sheets had dirt and grime on them. Floor was covered in hair. The property itself is outdated and poorly kept up. The steak house was a joke( 1 waiter to take orders for 60 tables). Ive traveled slot between 4* and 5* hotels and this was was just horrendous. Food was OK for the most part, service from staff was okay. Beach was nice, pool was okay (dirty often). I will not return. Id rather pay $200 more and go to Bahia Ambar.
