So, the Casino part of this resort is immaculate! If you are going there for gambling, this is the place for you. My wife and I, however, were needing a decent room for a good price. This one popped up, we booked it. As I said, the lobby and casino are immaculate, but you can tell the rooms are not given as much attention. The couch in the room was stained with something, only leaving terrible ideas to the imagination. The bed mattress was broken down, the room reeked of smoke (even though it was a no smoking room, they had a car vent air freshener on the AC vent), and the toilet barely worked. As I said, if your main purpose for a trip to Reno is drinking and gambling and a room at a decent price, this place is actually not all that bad!

When you book a 4 star location, you have certain high expectations. Eldorado didn't come close to those. Hallways were simply lot and the carpet needs an upgrade. Room was nothing special. Entrance was nice. Appreciated the free parking. The pool was a joke. Comparing this to Caesar's resorts in Vegas, it's nothing more than a standard pool you would get at a 2-2.5 star hotel. One thing that threw me off right away was I was travelling solo so I booked a 1 queen bed room. When I checked in, they didn't have any left so I was being told by the front desk that I was getting upgraded.... to the exact same room with 2 queen beds. And oh yeah, they weren't going to charge me for the upgrade. Well, I hope not when you don't have the room I booked. And it's not an upgrade when you only need one bed. Really disappointed in this experience.

I have an electric vehicle. The ONLY charger available on this property were Tesla chargers yet it is advertised that they have "EV charging" which is the reason why I chose the El Dorado. The website should specifiy that it is Tesla chargers only.

I do like this hotel but I forgot my smart watch on the room. I came back from Lake Tahoe a few hours later and they wouldn't give it to me. They told me it wasn't there.

If you're looking for dingy and outdated then you've found it. I booked and paid for a more expensive king room and was given a cheaper double room I didn't want for the same price. Also just not given useful info for someone staying their first time.
