Another Fantastic Holiday
We love this part of France and have used Vrbo previously, again we are delighted with the accommodation, comfortable beds, beautiful setting and a wonderfully rural location. Few minor gripes, not enough sunloungers and it would be nice if there could have been table and chairs in the shade somewhere outside big enough for the entire household

Fantastic holiday
We had a fantastico holiday in this house. Cosy and very quiet area. Nice pool and lovely terrace. Very well equipped kitchen. We did a lot rides on our bikes in the area, went to the markets in the area and enjoyed the lokal food and wines.

A charming rural gite. Comfortable and we'll equipped.
Brilliant cottage. Communication was swift and very helpful with the owner. It was easy to find via satnav. It has a wonderful peaceful setting amongst shady, tree filled gardens. Loved the pool area. A real suntrap. Pool is small but clean and well tended and we didn't miss a bigger one. Cottage is cool and well equipped. Comfortable beds and lovely clean linen. We were grateful for washing up liquid, loo roll and other items that are often missing in self catering properties. Location is a little off the beaten track but still close enough to the big tourist attractions. We enjoyed visits to Lascaux, Castelnaud, Limeuil, jardins de marquessac, gouffre de proumeyssac. Sunday market at St Cyprien was fab but heaving...go early. We canoed with Aquafun from Limeuil to le bassin nautique at tremolat. Nice meals at le chat qui peche at mauzac and the pizzeria at tremolat. All in all a good bet!

Great house with a nice garden and pool
The house was great, the garden has enough shadow. We enjoyed the pool. We missed airconditioning because it was very hot.

deposit is part of rent ?
Wonderful holiday . The house offers decent accommodation in the countryside with just about everything you would need to make your stay comfortable . Mauzac at the beginning of July offers the rest ; quaint villages , seasonal markets , great clean surroundings & perfect weather . If you have a weakness for duck , a speciality , you'll be in heaven , you can have it for breakfast , lunch & dessert . We certainly enjoyed our stay ( keeping in mind that at someone else's house " treading lightly " was our modus operandi but wasn't a hardship ) . On the second to last day at the house we paid close attention to the detailed cleaning instructions list & set about tackling these assigned chores , finishing some of them the following morning . After a thorough inspection of the premises , we locked & left , happy in the knowledge that the the cleaning staff would wonder wether they had in fact had guests in the house for the last 9 days ( end of June / beginning of July ) . As we now begin the month of September & after an e-mail to owner , asking about our deposit , the responding silence was strange . After all , the to & fro communications with the same e-mail was brisk when we were considering the house for our holiday . That deposit is a tip & may be used for a good cause . In conclusion , nice house , great area , just budget deposit as part of the rent & you won't be disappointed . Unless of course , you now opt for a better house that does give you your deposit back .

Absolutely perfect!
Our two weeks in this wonderful house were perfect. Eight of us (aged 13 - 76) stayed and had plenty of room inside and outside of the house. Although the kitchen was small and the oven not suited to cooking for all eight of us (we managed it though), all other rooms were spacious; the pool was small yet took 4 lilos and enabled us to play ball; and the large garden (with the wonderful (ornamental) sheep) was great for (small) bird watching and for playing games. The house was incredibly well equipped with EVERYTHING we needed - even a bag of picnic items for when we visited local night markets. We were visited by John and Sonya, who look after the house for the owners. They are a wonderful couple, kind, helpful and full of information. The house is certainly a rural getaway. Directions to it were given in advance of our arrival. It is important that you look out for La Metairie Hotel, look out for the municipal bins and turn down the lane immediately next to them. The house is literally in the middle of nowhere and for everywhere you want to visit you need a car. The area is full of beautiful little villages that are well worth driving through and occasionally stopping at. Local attractions include kayaking down the dordogne, cycling and visiting vineyards. I recommend this house 100%.

Well furnished and comfortable house
Very well equipped kitchen though small. Nice outdoor space with large table and umbrella. Good to have indoor dining room and comfortable living room too. Ceiling fans in main house bedrooms were good. Lovely bathrooms. Bedroom 4 (with ensuite) is not accessed from the main house which we had not realised. Fortunately our kids are older so not a problem. Sonya and Jon who look after the property were helpful.

Lovely house and location
Really enjoyed our stay. The house is a good size and felt like a home rather than a holiday let. The pool was warm. Huge dining room table and good sized table on large terrace. Beds and rooms were comfortable. The nearby village is a short drive away and has a small food shop and post office. Well located and pretty setting.

We had a lovely time in this very well equipped house. Everything there and the house feels homely. Pool a bit small but it is heated which is a big bonus. Mauzac is a super setting on the river. Interesting villages all around and everything you need for a great holiday.

Beautiful house in a tranquil location!
My family and I enjoyed a very relaxed and comfy stay in Le Bergerie. The house is situated close to some of the main attractions of the region yet in a very rural setting. The gardens and the pool were very relaxing and the perfect place for our children to enjoy. The house is lovely and very comfortable. We would love to stay there again one day.

Absolutely lovely.
We spent a wonderful week at La Bergerie and cannot wait to return. The house is in a quiet, secluded location and is furnished and equipped to a very high standard. The children loved the heated pool and the terrace catches the sun until the evening creating a wonderful place to relax and sunbathe. We visited many achingly beautiful French villages, canoed down the Dordogne and ate at some wonderful restaurants. Everything we wanted for our weeks holiday, just wish we'd stayed longer.

Great house in beautiful tranquil location
We really enjoyed our week at this wonderful house. The house is very comfortable and we'll equipped and the location was perfect for us. On the walking track, a short distance to the lovely hamlet of Mauzac right on the river (check out the Banana bar). Its also an easy drive to all the attractions of the region without being too "touristy" and only 40mins from Bergerac airport. Having the pool was lovely but the only gripe we had was the heater wasn't working when we arrived so it was too cold to use for the first couple of days.

Corinne & Denis

Very nice house in a lovely region.
July 2018 we were able to enjoy this house for a week. At arrival the master bedroom was a bit mouldy, but it got better after a while. The house was tidy and spacy enough. It has a nice terras and a comfortable swimming pool (for the four of us), surrounded by a big, quiet garden. We sincerely hope we get the chance to come back one day!
