"Das Taj Mahal Palace ist nicht einfach ein luxuriöses Hotel. Es hat eine wunderbare Willkommenskultur, ein abwechslungsreiches kulinarisches Angebot in sehr unterschiedlichen Restaurants, allerfeinstes Frühstück mit Blick auf das Gateway of India und das Meer und ist zentral gelegen mitten in Colaba, Es ist ein historischer Ort, erbaut von einem Mann, der als Inder einst von einem britischen Luxushotel abgewiesen wurde und der daraufhin eins erbaut hat, das Gästen aus allen Ländern zugänglich ist. Diesen Geist hat das Haus aufrecht erhalten. Heute ist es cosmopolitan und zugleich traditionell indisch aufgestellt. Live Sitarmusik in den Fluren, Kerzenlicht und eine Pracht frischer Blumen geben dem Haus eine besondere Aura. Wir selbst hatten das große Glück, bei dem angebotenen „Heritage Walk“ tiefe Eindrücke von den Epochen und Entwicklungen dieses faszinierenden Ortes zu bekommen. Ein besonderes Dankeschön dafür an Mister Adil. Extraklasse haben die Zimmer mit Seaview. Wir hatten ein Clubzimmer mit Seaview. "

"Especially the staff makes this hotel unique. The employees are very kind and such helpful guys. Each of them is friendly but also open for a little chat. Unfortunately our first room was smelling really badly, but the receptionist reacted perfectly and gave us directly a new room which was without any problems. We tried two of the three restaurants as well as the in-house bar. The Thai restaurant was absolutely fantastic and so was the Konan Cafe (Indian restaurant). Another highlight was the continental but especially the Indian breakfast. This was one of the best breakfast experiences I’ve ever had. All of the waitresses and waiters were very professional and such nice people, thanks to all of them! Bach tho the Hotel: outside it’s not the prettiest but it completely changes when you walk in. The lobby area is such a lovely place and it even smells lovely. Our final room was quite comfortable and clean. At the moment there is some construction work infront of the building (new metro directliy to the airport which will be a real game changer!) the noise is not really noticeable. Not because of the good isolation of the building but because of all the other noises of Mumbai. The SPA and pool area is a little bit dated in comparison of the other public areas but an old pool is much better than no pool in Mumbai. So that would be my only complains I guess. Overall we loved our stay so much that we decided to book another IHCL hotel at our next destination in Munnar."
