Few problems at this hotel which was disappointing for a Marriott. First room grubby, freshly painted and smelt. At check in over heard receptionist say they weren’t putting people in rooms with scaffolding, our first room was in this area. After a discussion at reception changed rooms, room still grimy with dirty cup but ok. Good bed and shower. Lifts not working properly which can’t be helped but stairs were filthy. Great location for train station but overall disappointing

Had a great stay in a deluxe room. Everything was great. To improve, I am in catering management, the egg station at the start of breakfast is in the wrong place. It causes confusion for people who do not need it. Simple foot fall solutions will solve this. However breakfast was great.

Terrible customer service at the Marriott
Upon our early arrival, we left our luggage and returned later that evening, only to find out that we were assigned a lower standard room than the Deluxe that we had paid for. We were disgusted to be informed that this room meant to be for 4 persons, was not only too small to move in but was equipped with a sofa bed instead of the second double bed we had booked. This was not only uncomfortable but also not what we had anticipated for our stay. When we asked multiple times for extra pillows to make this more comfortable, they never arrived. Furthermore, we encountered issues with the amenities in our room. There were not enough tea cups or towels provided for our group, which is a basic expectation in any hotel stay. Despite notifying the reception multiple times about these shortcomings, our concerns were not adequately addressed and we waited over two hours for these to arrive. As well as an unexpected uncomfortable first nights sleep, we were woken by a fire alarm going off at 4am in the hotel and no notice of whether to evacuate or an apology, which then left us all feeling very unsettled. The service in this hotel was very disappointing to say the least, although we were moved to a deluxe room on the second night, the inconvenience that this caused with packing up and moving our luggage was not acceptable and once again we had to ask for more amenities that were missing from the room, meant to be for 4 persons.
